Mr. Seung-Ho Shin is a partner at Shin & Kim, mainly practicing in the areas of financial and securities criminal defense, corporate criminal matters, and financial regulatory affairs.
Before joining Shin & Kim, Mr. Shin spent approximately 14 years as a prosecutor working in financial, securities, and tax investigation units (including the Joint Investigation Unit for Financial and Securities Crimes at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, the 2nd Financial Investigation Division, the Financial and Securities Crime Investigation Cooperation Unit, and the Joint Investigation Unit for National Financial Crimes at the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office) as well as in corruption and economic crime investigation units (including the Special Investigations Division at the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office and the 3rd Criminal Division at the Seongnam Branch Prosecutors' Office), where he handled a wide variety of cases.
In addition, while serving as a legal advisor to the Financial Services Commission, Mr. Shin participated as an advisor or member in various committees, including the Securities and Futures Commission, the Capital Markets Investigation and Deliberation Committee, the Supervisory Committee, and the Innovative Finance Review Committee, reviewing agenda items related to financial regulation, investigation, and sanctions.
Drawing on this experience in prosecution and financial policy, Mr. Shin currently advises clients and handles litigation in areas including responses to financial institution examinations and sanctions, capital market investigations and accounting audits, and corporate criminal defense and internal investigations.
