Mr. Heui-Jin Ji is an advisor at Shin & Kim, mainly practicing in the areas of Energy and Resources, Aviation, Maritime and Transportation, and Environment.

Mr. Ji graduated from Seoul National University (B.A., Political Science) in 1988 and received his master’s degree from Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Administration in 1991.

After passing the 34th Civil Service Examination in 1990 and joining the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Korea Maritime and Port Administration) in 1991, he worked at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs) for 27 years in various capacities in the areas of shipping, ports, maritime policy, maritime safety, planning, legal affairs, and human resources. Mr. Ji served as a legal officer, head of the Coastal Shipping Division, head of the Maritime Policy Division, head of the Shipping Policy Division, head of the Automobile Policy Division, chief investigator of the Korea Maritime Safety Tribunal, administrator of the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, and commissioner of the Korea Maritime Safety Tribunal. He has also served as Maritime Affairs Secretary in the Office of the President, and as an attaché to the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

After retiring from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in 2017, he served as the CEO of Hanjoong Ferry Co., Ltd. He also served as the chairman of the Port Committee at Incheon Port Authority, non-executive advisor of the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation, and competency advisor of the National Human Resources Development Institute before joining Shin & Kim LLC in March 2025.
