Mr. Abraham Sung Shin is a senior foreign attorney at Shin & Kim primarily concentrating on alternative investments, fund formation/investment and asset management in domestic and international business transaction practice.

While working at National Pension Service and Korea Investment Corporation as in-house counsel, Mr. Shin had advised on various cross-border investment projects.

• Represented major domestic institutional investors and investment management companies for various overseas alternative investments (PE/real estate/infrastructure/VC/hedge funds, SMAs, IMAs, co-investments and direct investments).
• Advised major Korean institutional investors on their investments in overseas wind power plants, smart meters, railroads, dormitories, hospitals, etc.
• Advised major Korean institutional investors on secondary sales of their investment interests (including portfolio transactions).
• Advised major Korean financial institutions on establishing overseas branches and subsidiaries as well as obtaining necessary licenses, permits and/or approvals for their business in Singapore, the U.K., the U.S., etc.
• Advised on an overseas professional financial investor on investments in Korean PE, VC and real estate (data center, etc.).
• Advised foreign financial institutions on their registration of funds in Korea.
• Advised major Korean financial institutions on their acquisition financing of businesses.
• Advised major Korean financial institutions on ship financings (JOLCO/French tax lease structure, etc.).
