Mr. Sun-Jul Hwang is currently a partner at Shin & Kim, and his practice focuses on construction and real estate disputes (defects, sales, construction payment, and maintenance projects).

Since 2003, Mr. Hwang has accumulated a wealth of experience in defect litigation, sales litigation, and maintenance project litigation on behalf of major Korean construction companies.

Mr. Hwang graduated from Seoul National University College of Law (LL.B.), received his master’s degree (LL.M.) from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, and completed the 32nd judicial training course at the Judicial Research and Training Institute. Mr. Hwang has accumulated professional experience in the field of construction appraisal in particular, and he is the co-author of the “Construction Appraisal Manual” published by the National Court Administration under the Supreme Court in 2014 and participated as a member of the “Symposium for Improving Construction Appraisal Procedures” and “TF on Construction Appraisal Fee Calculation Standards” led by the Seoul Central District Court.

In recognition of his experience and career, Mr. Hwang was recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Construction and Real Estate by Legal Times in 2021.
