Mr. Jong Chae Jung, an attorney at Shin & Kim, was recently reappointed as a member of the Expert Council for Improving International Tax Laws for the second consecutive year by the National Tax Service, the nation’s tax authority.
The Expert Council’s responsibilities include reviewing and recommending improvements to tax laws and regulations (including laws and regulations related to international taxation) that contain unfavorable taxation criteria. Any improvements related to tax laws are recommended by the Expert Council to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance for enactment.
Mr. Jung has served at the Investigation Bureau of the Seoul Regional Tax Office, the Tax Collection Division of the National Tax Service, as well as the Tax Service Division of the Jeju Tax Office. He has published numerous articles on tax and fair trade issues and actively participates in various forums and academic meetings as both presenter and debater.
