Mr. Jinbaek Kim is a senior patent attorney at Shin & Kim, specializing in IP consulting, patent applications, infringement investigations, and dispute resolution for Korean and Japanese companies, as well as technical consulting in high-tech sectors including semiconductors, batteries, mobility, and medical devices.
Mr. Kim graduated from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at Yonsei University and completed the Advanced Management Program(AMP) at Seoul National University. He has accumulated over 20 years of extensive practical experience in the field of intellectual property, having worked at Kim & Chang and other major domestic patent firms. In particular, in 2006, he became the first Korean patent attorney to work in the Information Analysis Division of Toyota Technical Development Co., the world’s largest automotive company. He also spent approximately seven years working in Japan, including at the patent division of Fujitsu Ltd., a global IT company, where he gained a deep understanding of Japanese corporate culture as well as intellectual property practices and management systems both within Japan and internationally.
Drawing on this unparalleled track record, Mr. Kim provides strategic advice tailored to clients’ businesses by conducting a detailed analysis of the differences between the intellectual property systems and practices in Korea and Japan.
Mr. Kim is currently an active member of the Korean Patent Attorneys Association and LES Japan. Fluent in Korean, Japanese, and English, he plays a leading role in resolving complex intellectual property issues for global companies.
