Mr. Jooyoung Park, a foreign legal consultant at Shin & Kim, recently made a presentation on the subject of “Recent Trends in Enforcement of the Fair Trade Act” at a breakfast meeting held by the Korea Association of Chief Financial Officers on 29 March 2011.
Mr. Park’s presentation highlighted several key issues, such as (i) the trend of enforcement by the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) relative to price stabilization and joint growth, (ii) the revision of the examination guidelines for acts of unfair support, (iii) the introduction of consent-based resolution, and (iv) the retirement of the FTC’s exclusive accusation system.
Prior to joining Shin & Kim, Mr. Park worked as an officer, secretary and manager in the law enforcement and policy making sector of the FTC. Mr. Park’s current practice focuses on a wide range of consumer protection-related laws as well as the Competition Act.
