Shin & Kim, a leading full-service Korean law firm, is seeking a passionate, curious, and driven Foreign Attorney to join its Tier-1 Banking & Finance Practice Group. Reporting to the Partners, you will be drafting and negotiating a wide range of facility documentation and otherwise facilitate transactions across all fields of banking and finance, including leveraged buyouts, acquisition financing, syndicated lending, project finance, and structured finance.
Key Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Admission in a common law jurisdiction (e.g., United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand).
- Excellent academic credentials.
- 0–3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), either in a law firm or in-house (newly qualified lawyers are also encouraged to apply).
- Experience within a law firm, bank or financial institution would be an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- A collaborative mindset and a proactive, engaged approach to teamwork.
- Proficiency in Korean will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in drafting and negotiating a wide range of finance documentation.
- Support the team in acting for both borrowers and lenders on a variety of financing matters.
- Support senior team members in managing and progressing financing transactions from inception to closing.
- Assist in providing sound commercial and legal advice to clients under the supervision of partners and senior team members.
- Support business development efforts by assisting with client engagement and identifying new opportunities.
- Contribute to the team’s knowledge base and support foreign clients in navigating Korea’s regulatory and business environment.
